Also, I talked to Keisler today and they cannot get actual Viper trannys anymore. They said Dodge didn't like Tremec selling them to the aftermarket so they are no longer available. Aparently you can still get the 30 spline outputs etc for T56's just not the complete Viper trans. The Viper trans appears longer than an LS1 tranny anyhow.

I may give liberty a call tomorrow. They fixed some gears off my old M22 muncie clutchless tranny several years ago. I'm sure they want more than i'm willing to spend right now. I can get a really nice LS1 tranny built or do it myself for the $1400-1700 range, Mikronite gears as well.

When I talked to Paul about the SRT10 transmissions, the price was not much more then what your thinking about in the above post. It seems the SRT10 trans is the hidden jem.

I talked to Paul @ Liberty and Those SRT-10 truck trannys are a killer deal but I already have done the mods for shifter location for the LS1 shifter location and the shifter location is different for the dodge tranny. It is 4" further forward.

The Viper truck tranny doesn't have billet keys or bronze fork pads. The 2 T56's i've torn down had keys broken. I wouldn't put it in without them. Also the tranny doesn't have provisions for any type speedo so that is another $150 to machine the tailhousing + a speed sensor from Dodge. So the $1800 for the trans doesn't look as good as it initially did when you add another $400+ to get it up to par + new hole in floor and cover the old hole and make another custom shifter handle. I think i'll be working something out with T56 Rebuilds.
