Default Question about Clutch Slave Cylinder and Shim

The F-Body clutch slave cylinder has a recessed mounting surface with a surrounding ring that ensures concentricity with the transmission's input shaft. The shim supplied with the Ram HD clutch completely fills this recessed area so that the slave can not be accurately mounted. This is a problem because while the release bearing on my original slave seems to float, the bearing on my new slave does not. I can’t talk with Ram until Monday; I’m hoping that someone here knows what I should do.

i just installed a ram powergrip hd on thursday and put the shim in behind the slave, i drove it last night and there weren't any problems so it seems right.

Skipper, thanks for the reply but my concern is not that the clutch won't work at first - I'm worried that the release bearing will fail prematurely if it isn't concentric with the input shaft. The mounting holes are much larger than the mounting bolts and without the index ring the fit is very sloppy.
