What is the purpose of the springs in the clutch disc???

Default What is the purpose of the springs in the clutch disc???

im just curious what the purpose of these springs are and what is the affect if you drive a car without them or if they persay popout????

from what i know its to make the engaugment alot smother for the and alot more street friendly. . instead of the on off feel . .someone correct me if im wrong. .

Right. They "absorb" some of the rotational pressure of the clutch when engaging. If you drop the clutch they springs on the disc will compess completely. If you let out the clutch slowly, the springs will hardly compress at all. Basically it makes it a lot smoother as mentioned. Race clutches often don't have the springs. I believe the SPEC 5 doesnt have them.
