Default 4th gear issues

My trany likes to pop fourth out if i dont pull all the way back into 4th from 3rd. I really have to bring it back. If i bring it back and then let it go and engage the clutch, it'll push it out of gear. From 1 to 4 (damn skip shift), i have no issues. From 5th to 4th also no issues. What is this and how do i go about fixing it?

Gonna have to remove the trans & tear it down & inspect it. It sounds like shift fork pads or a slider key issue. you wont know until it is apart.

Agree. The longer you wait the more damage it will do. Rebuild it now and the cost might be minimal. Wait and it could be high.

Thanks,
Amber

The more you drive it like that, the more damage ( and $$$) it will do.

My tranny popped out of 4th all the time. Shifting from 3rd to 4th , if i didnt hold it in 4th , it would jump out . My 3-4 shift fork was broken.
