6th gear?

I'd cross your fingers and try the stop bolts or anything else that may be in way. The others sound kinda nasty! Good luck.

i have had he cover off before there isnt any "crap" in there but the stop bolts were backed off a little much....im goin to adjust them omorrow and hope for the best.......what would be involved in replacing the shift forks?

ok so i adjusted the stop bols they are good but still no 6th......it feels as if it goes right in but when you let the clutch out it pops right out i aam having troubles here!!

The bolts will prevent from full engagement if they are to close to the shift lever so make sure they are far enough away as to not block the lever. You could have bent the linkage or shift forks, but I'm not sure how you would check those. I never messed passed the shifter so far. To me it sounds like your not getting full engagement for some reason.

yea thats what im thinking.....i have an extra pro 5.0 shifter i might try and if it isnt that then it has to do with the trans itself....i heard that 5 and 6 gears shift forks are in the tailshaft? is that true and how much you think it would cost to replace those

Well then you definitely don't have stock gear ratios...

With stock (3.42) gears and a .5 6th gear ratio, you should be somewhere around 1500RPM at 70MPH. If its higher than that, then you either have reeeeaally small tires, an aftermarket trans, or a different rear end gear ratio.

i have a 4.10 and im at about 1700-1900 at 70-75mph
