5.0 pro shifter ?
i've heard about the unique design of the pro5.0, thats what made me decide to buy one since everyone says its the best. what is the difference between it and any other shifter (mine isn't here yes and the trans isn't in the car so i have no clue what all the hype is about)

If you have the stock shifter right now (or even the Hurst), you've undoubtably missed 3rd gear numerous times thanks to the crappy design of the stock unit

Well I went from a hurst to the 5-0. I dunno I heard alot about it feeling notchy and such and it definately lived up to its name. When racing its ok you dont really notice, but day to day driving its sucks.
I will be getting rid of mine very soon for a hurst with a short stick.

It depends on who you ask. When shopping for a shifter I asked the same question and was convinced to buy one from all the praise everyone gave it. I had it on my car for a week and then took it off and sold it. It was loud and the 2-3 shift wasn't much better than the stock hurst I had. I would try to drive other peoples car with different shifters on them and then make your decision that way.
i had the hurst billit plus in my car since ive bought the thing with no complaints really, tho it did get a lil sloppy. got the 5.0 waiting to go in now, just waiting on the tranny still, but i dont understand the 'no miss 2-3'..i guess il hafta see when i get the thing going again, but ive only mis shifted into 4th liek once or twice before when i was still learning the gear box
I have had the pro 5.0 in my ss for about a year and a half. The first pro 5.0 was a total piece of ****, and I talked to the place where I bought it, and they got me in contact with the people at pro 5.0 and I sent them the defective one, they looked at it, and decided that they were just going to sent me a brand new shifter. Since that time I am 100% satisfied with this shifter.
Does anyone know where to find the mod on changing the internal springs out on teh shifter to make it more stiff?
