I use a Pro 5.0 with WS6 store 6.5" stick, and I like it a lot. I picked it over the B&M because I tried it on another Camaro, and really liked the feel. Also, I have the option to change the stick to a different length if I want to.

To answer the second part of the question, I use the stops on the shifter.

It's definitely louder than stock was, but my exhaust and stereo drown it out, so I don't really hear it.

Ripper here, and I use the stops on the shifter. Love it. never miss a gear. Had the LSS for 2 years, this is much better. Plus I can reach it very easily when strapped into a 5 pt. harness. I drove the Pro 5.0 and didn't like it.

Im a fan of the Pro 5.0 shifter. I have one on my own car and I have the short stick as well. Has a great feel and i feel it helps a lot with the 2nd to 3rd transition. Plus the stops work great.

I liked the feel of the Pro5.0 but did not like the short stick. I went with the B&M instead. The stick is a little shorter than the stock Hurst which makes it the perfect height for me. It only rattles a little bit under certain conditions. I love it. The drawback to the B&M is that you can't change the stick because it is one piece.

Pro 5.0 with the stick it came with, love it! Very definite feel to it and its just as quiet as my stock shifter was. The key there is to make sure you get enough RTV sealing it to the tranny.
