Well.. My tranny went to **** on me.. T-56 manual.. you can read all about that in my other thread.. But My question is.. Should I do the tranny shop myself? I have a garage w/ a lift. and a decent mechanically inclined friend. hell. I'm pretty sure we can knock it out in 3 hours. Whatcha think? I'm probably gonna get my t-56 rebuilt if it's salvagable.. If not I guess I will buy a built one..

definately do it yourself!! Especially if you have access to a lift! I have done mine 3 times already on the ground. The only problem i ran into is getting the bellhousing off the block. The dowels were "frozen" in there pretty good......but if your not planning on doing a clutch swap while your there you wont have to worry about it! Just pull the tranny w/o the bellhousing

I just did a clutch swap and I would definitely say do it yourself cuz it will save you a ton of money...You'll also understand the workings of your hydraulic system...
