When you removed the old shifter , did you notice the plastic bushing in the trans/ shifter interface? You may have either knocked it out or it fell out with the install. If it were out of place, all shiftes would be short and either clash or jump out. This bushing is supposed to epoxied in the trans.
It is also possible that your shifter install has nothing to do with the problem. You may not be fully releasing the clutch...that would give you the probs.Try a system bleed.

He also recently installed a Textralia before the shifter swap. Forgot to mention that. I agree with the system bleed!!!

It honestly sounds more like a clutch/ hydraulic issue. Yes you can buy the bushing from GM. You have to ask for the T5 offset lever isolator bushing because the T56 is only sold as part of the assembly( glued in) . They both use the same part .You , then, epoxy it into your t56 offset lever and save some $$$.

Sounds like you are not engaging all the way. I point at the hydraulic setup too.

There is a bleed screw that has to be opened and closed as in bleeding a brake system. Held open while someone pumps the clutch, then closed on the last few pumps... gets all the air out.

Welll car will not go into gear now, wont drive. I am going to try and put the stock shifter back on and if that doesnt fix it, go to the crapper and $hit out some more money for hunting problems.
