Clutch problem help!!

Clutch problem help!! So I start the car in first gear, the car is in gear. Now I press down on the gas and teh car shudders... no change in engine sound and the car refuses to accelerate and then finally starts moving... Sometime the car doesn't respond but other times it moves right along... I am wondering if somthing is wrong with the clutch, or if i need more fluid or what. it did it once then started getting worse and worse and is doing it all the time now. I'm praying that it's not a serious problem. Cause I can't afford to rip open the transmission again. When i put my ls7 clutch in i didn't get to put in the new slave cylinder. Is thsi going to kill me, is this my problem or is this somthing different.
