Problem With Textralia I've got the OZ700 with about 1000 miles on it. About two days ago, it started making a squeeking kind of sound taking off in 1st gear under normal driving. I can feel it in the clutch pedal as well as in the shifter. What is going on here?
This just started happening in my car this weekend. It seems like it only happens when the clutch is cold and on 1st gears starts when I let the clutch out real slow. I have the z disc with the billet steel flywheel. My clutch has about 500 miles on it.

Seems this problem is quite common. Some guys said beating on it will break the clutch in faster and make the squeek go away. This clutch actually lets you know it needs a beating!
Other than the squeaking when its cold this clutch has been great so far. Basically no chatter after a couple hundred miles and grabs like a SOB when you want it to.

Squeaking on that clutch is a harmonics issue. The clutch rings like a tuning fork.
You have two options. You can put the car on a lift, loosen up the pressure plate bolts, and reseat the pressure plate which will fix the squeaking, or you can do a hit or two in say 3rd gear. Bring up the revs, and dump the clutch once or twice. The force of hitting the clutch a couple of times will often shift the clutch a bit, and fix the harmonics issue.
If you have other issues, give them a call so they can resolve them for you.

Also I took it easy on this clutch for the first 300 or so miles. Didnt spray it until around 400 miles. The instructions just said take it easy for the first few miles(no specific number). I think I broke it in according to Tex's instructions.

I had the squeaking just like you, only I could hear it and feel it on the pedal. After sometime it went away. I was never too concerned with it as the clutch has and still holds anything I throw at it.
sounds like my old spec only it did it all the time cold or hot, got rid of the clutch just for that reason (sounded like sh*t). I am very happy with my new tex 1200 miles and a handfull of track passes.

Yeah, I can feel it in the pedal. As far as break in, I didn't take the RPM's over 3,000 until I hit a little over 500 miles so the break in was sufficient. I've got a big F-Body event coming up on the 16th so I wanted to make sure it wasn't some catasrophic problem. Thanks guys!
just rev it a little higher and slip it a little more. It should go away before too long. Mine was doing the same thing after about 1000 miles, and it eventually just stopped.

My ram started doing that about 2 months before it started slipping severely... It was low rpm slip conditions that it would make that noise. From what I figured it was the TOB. But all will be well in a few days with the new ram in there

I will find out how it behaves in overkill mode. My car does not really require a clutch this stout, but I think of it as a foundation for good things in the future
