Default do i need to shim a ram clutch???

i just put in a ram clutch and pp , i also have an adjustable master cylinder. i still didn't start the car cause of other problems, but the clutch feels light and it's hard to disingage the tranny.
should i have put a shim between the throe out bearing and the pp???

i tried to adjust the master cylinder but it didn't help. how many turns does it usually take??

should i bleed the system???

no need for shims with the adjustable MC and yes.....you HAVE to bleed the sysetm. installuniversity.com has a good writeup on the install.....give it a look.

the engaugement will be lower than normal but come up as the clutch breaks in the first 50o miles or so..i wouldnt waste any time trying to adjust anything until the car is running..

to bleed, just do it until you dont hear a pshfftt! out of the bleeder (air) when you crack it open with the pedal down. 3-4 times should be fine.

be sure not to let your reservoir run dry or you'll have to start all over.

if it feels like adjusting the master isnt doing anything and the pedal stays light.. you might have one of the defective mcleods.. if thats the brand you got.

You need to have it running first to check. If it still is not clean, power bleeding or vacuum bleeding seems to be the solution. Try this.

well guess what!
i tried to bleed the darn thing and the bleeder screw either broke off or came loose and now it's resting comfortably in the bottom of the bellhousing!
man this blows!
i'll pull the tranny out tommorow and put in a new one.
could the throw out bearing/ slave cylinder be bled before i bolt the tranny in??
