LS7 Clutch install help
I am gonna install my LS2 aluminum flywheel with the new master cyl and LS7 clutch and pressure plate.
I need instructions on the whole thing. can anyone provide detailed instructions, preferrably with pics?
also If the aluminum LS2 flywheel wont work, Im gonna try the LS2 steel flywheel.
Any input would help.
Oh and also can anyone help me bleed the clutch correctly? (with instructions)

Check out www.installuniversity.com and do the mcleod clutch walkthrough, thats what we used for my clutch install. I dont know how scratched your flywheel is but you want your friction surface to be as smooth and as nice as possible as that is 1/2 of your clutch engagement!

not unless you got a damn crader in it. Just a surface scratch which I consider a scratch like what you would find on a CD, won't hurt anything as long as its not on the friction side.
The LS7 clutch is VERY simple to install. Just use the link provided above for the torque specs & general info. This clutch assembly bolts right up very easily. Just make sure your flywheel is lined up correctly & that your clutch alignment tool goes in & out freely after its all torqued down. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK IT.
Stab the tranny back in & bolt everything back up in same order you removed it. Make sure to tighten in a criss-cross pattern. You can either use a Mity Vac or the old school method to bleed it.

Not a problem man. I was askin every question I could think of before tackling my clutch swap. I know how it is wondering about stuff. But once you do it, you will understand how easy it really is.
Good luck & let us know how it goes. Also the pedal will engauge right off the floor at first.

you should also buy a haynes manual. I've use that book quite oftenly. CLutch install on our cars are fairly simple, but time consuming. just take your time and try not to get fustrated. As for scratches, I had nurmerous surface scratches on my pressure plate from the shipping that concerned me. I took back to the performance shop and they told me the scratches are not deep and will wear away. So far I've handn't had any problems with my clutch. As for bleeding the system. I've tried the old way, but with the use of the mityvac was alot easier and less messy. I recommend you using the mityvac for bleeding process.

Thats how I build my exhausts and for others.
