Default Wtf!!!???? Noise???

Ok, sooooo, I have this weird sound.

Now, my car runs fine.

NO problems going in gear-
NO issue with the clutch-
NO problems speed shifting-
NO issues what so ever-

However, when I am driving, and am anywhere from speeds of 10 mph to whatever, I can hear "clunking" sound when the clutch is fully pressed, no matter what gear, and the sound ONLY shows up when clutch is PRESSED.

WTF?

I am having ZERO issues driving my car, but the sound makes me fell very uneasy, it will get worse with the more RPM I give it.

Now, if I am sitting still, with clutch fully pressed, I hear nothing, it is all fine. It only happens when I am MOVING, and with clutch PRESSED, so, if I am moving and in neutral, no funky sounds.

It is hard to tell weather it is coming from the tranny itself, or the clutch/bellhousing area, I have about 10,000 miles or so on my LS7 clutch setup, and I an dreading having an issue with the tranny.

Could this be my clutch? Internal tranny issues?????

I have never ever heard of this problem, and I will be pulling the tranny out to take a close look at the clutch. Does anyone have ANY idea what the hell this noise is??? if I dont see any problems with my clutch when I pull the tranny, I will prolly end up rebuilding my T56 before anything "comes loose"

Ideas???

Is this your first manual car? Or new to you? It sounds like simple drive line slack. Although the biggest contributor is the ring/ pinion set up, the noise almost always soundds like its comming from the trans. It should not be a major concern unless you get other noises in operation.

No, this is not my first manual.

And no, it is not driveline slack, it is an actual noise, lol, trust me.

Today, we were sitting in the car, and determined that you dont have to be moving, to hear the noise, AND, you can actually control the noise, with the clutch pedal. Also, the "noise" that you tend to get when putting in a short throw, is actually getting more loud.

So, I think that it may be the slave and or pilot bearing. If I am to push the clutch in, and give it a rev, weather I am now moving or not, you can hear some pretty narly clunking, but you HAVE TO PUSH the clutch in to even hear this stuff.

So, what does everyone think? Slave and throwout bearing combo? when I am idling, you can actually hear it making clicking sounds, I am thinking it might not be inside the tranny, because it runs fine, no shifting issues, and doesnt jump out of gear or anything, plus, the sound only shows up when I am operating the clutch.

This is what i am leaning towards too.. Or possibley the two bolts that hold the slave to the tranny have worked loose.. Well find out when we pull it.

Sorry to bring this thread back, but what would happen if the two bolts holding the slave on work loose?

I would think, since the slave is sandwhiched between the PP and trans, that it wouldn't really matter.
Unless maybe the slave 'drops' down onto the input shaft...

If you didn't replace the pilot bearing when you installed the clutch I am pretty sure that's where your noise is coming from. That's what happened to me. I found half the roller bearings outside the bearing case.
