Default Textralia help?

Hey guys hopefully you can shed some light here. I've pm'd and emailed Textralia but have not received any replies. What kind of HP can the Textralia singe and dual handle? Does the dual require an adjustable master and is it available with a aluminum flywheel.

Thanks!

They are intended for use with stock master AFAIK.

Ive been using my OZ700 for over a year now...circa 4-4500 road miles and perhaps 40+ passes.

It drives superbly, and seems to grip equally as well.

Hey bro! I didn't know they had hardcore drag racers like you out in Ireland! Man I was born in the UK and raised in Basingstoke until 5 then my folks moved to Canada. My wife and I would love to visit the UK and of course Ireland is one place where we would both love to vist. Where are the tracks around there-it would be awesome to see how guys get it done!

There no tracks here I'm afraid . I have to travel to England or Scotland if I want to race, which is a major PITA.
Crail in Scotland, or Santa Pod, Avon Park ( Shakespeare county raceway ) or Elvington airfield in York.
There is also Melbourne Raceway in York, although Ive never raced there yet. Might try and get there next year.

Not so sure Im a hardcore racer....I only do it as and when I can afford to get over. But I sure enjoy it !!!!

Transam...no shims required for the Tex.

No shims even with a new stock slave? Cause something is pressing the slave in to far and causing it to leak everytime the clutch pedal is engaged.

Well, unless something has changed since I got mine.

Mine came complete with new slave, flywheel, plate, cover etc etc.

No shims, and intended for use with factory master ( although mine isnt due to a LS1 conversion )

If the clutch is designed for the car properly, why would you need shims ??? GM certainly dont use them.

You should really contact Textralia about your problem.

i'm not sure how much the oz700 can handle but i know the exoskel can handle over a 1000. you use the stock master cylinder and you have an option between the aluminum or steel flywheel. i just installed my exoskel a few days ago, i didn't use shims or anything and it seems to feel right but i haven't drove it yet either.

I'm a little confused as to why so many guys with relatively low power are opting form the exo-skel.

Must admit, it looks pretty damn cool....but I just cant help thinking its massive overkill.
Then again, the price on it isnt bad either.

The OZ700 performs superbly and plenty are pushing it well beyond the 700lbft rating. I'd say Im in and around that. If it ever gives me trouble, I will upgrade to the Exo-Skel, but not until then I think.

Guys...

The boys from Australia are currently in the States heading to the SEMA show (they stopped by the new AFR facility late Friday). It may take them a few days to get back to you so I would encourage you to be patient. I will see them at the show as well and will mention there are probably a few PM's waiting for them.

Thanks,
Tony

Thanx Tony... I have heard so many great things about the tex. I am just now installing it since getting back from overseas and getting all my parts in. I cant figure out whats going wrong with the clutch. I installed it with help from installuniversity.com. I will post pix of the clutch sitting in the car as it sits now later today..

Yeah mine came complete too. like urs. I am stumped now and dont want to pay a shop to finish it up cause I want to know and be able to do it and only be able to blame myself is something is messed up. Plus I go no clue how much it would cost to finish it up here in Hawaii.

OZ700 is rated to 750rwhp which is what i was told a year or so ago when i installed mine and the exo like someone stated is 1000hp. there is NO shim used with Textralia and its suggested by them to use a stock master. goodluck

The ratings are more biased towards lbft, rather than hp levels.

I know Tex rant and rave about their alloy flywheel process....but based on my experience with a MCleod street twin a few years ago, I wouldnt have an alloy flywheel again.
The friction surface that was fitted warped like a banana. The clutch still gripped, and felt fine..but I still didnt like it when I found out.
