It's funny, you can even shift gears all the way to 5th.
This is BS. The smoke you were seeing was your clutch.

Get a line lock. It is the easiest way to do a burnout. Don't have to abuse the clutch, engine or trans.

I dont know u looking to do a spinout?? like at a light? Thats easy....I can dump the clutch fast at about 1500 or more. Then almost floor it. Immediately. then as soon as you feel the back going loose on you hit the brakes gently.

I heal toe the brake and gas. I use the left foot for the clutch. I usually take it to 3000 rpms and let off the clutch and watch the ET streets just smoke. Do a good burn out and be consistant. First two burnouts I did yesterday were straight as an arrow and the last one just walked the rear end around, must not have been lined up stright in the box.

Line lock is the best option by far.

I have used the sidestep method at the track and damn near embarassed myself. It does take some finesse to get it right though. I have it down, but my 10 bolt hates it....alot.

Rev to 3500-4000, dump clutch, mash gas, enjoy.
Line lock is how its supposed to be done though.

you dont need a lot of break pressure to lock the fronts. heel on brake, toe on gas, left foot on clutch. rev, dump, in one fluid motionswing you right foot so its just on the gas and put your left on the brakes but dont stomp on the brakes.

I prefer the heal-toe method the best, the rear end does not seem to jump when you do it this way.

Wow! My first BS flag and I got three of them!!! We are talking about street tires, right? I'm confused as to why anyone wouldn't believe this.

Hell, I was even talking about my bone stock LT1, not even my LS1. Might have been able to shift into 6th and kept them spinning. Just didn't try.

Too bad I don't have a video camera, I guess. Have to ask some of my friends if they have one. I'm ging to call right now.

Maybe everyone's car is different. And it depends on what you are sitting one. Slanted pavement or whatever. But If I brake them loose going straight, the back does not swing out till I tell it to. It's been ever since I installed the SFC's. I also have almost a full suspension. I'm just missing the sway bars. -BTW.

I love gettin squirley when I know it's ok... (enough room) A slight wheel adjustment and I've held them smooking sideways for over 200 ft. ... touch to the left... hold it sideways, touch to the right... hold it sideways.... straighten out, powershift to second... smoke second for about another 100 feet or so.... ... that had to be THE most badass -from a roll- burnout I've done to date!.... I only WISH I had gotten it on camera. ....LOUD as FK too!

I hit the rev limiter @ 145 in 4th on mine. -Not stock tho... so yeah I'd say about 135-140

I'm talking about keeping them spinning on a bone stock LT1. It's been raining for the last two days here, so no play for now. My LS1 has Eagle F1's on it. Came with the car when I bought it. Not so much as done a single burn out in this car, but it'll be fun.

So, what kind of street tires are you running? And with a stock LT1? I'm not here to pick on anyone but I cannot wrap my mind around this. It's already been said but at 5500 rpm, in 5th, w 3.42 gears, and 25.66 inch tires your tires will be going 166mph...........

Check out: http://www.f-body.org/gears/

PS Hopefully u get that video, and get your 6th gear burnout going....that will be 246 MPH at 5500 rpm!!!!

So? *shrug*

Done it before, so I'm not questioning my own statement. You know, I uh... was there when I did it. I thought everyone could do this and that it was no problem for any car.

No ones backing me on this? Hell, I thought someone would come on here like ten seconds after the first BS flag and be like, "WTF? Who can't keep them spinning in 5th?!" lol

ok............ THe only person I've seen (vid w/ More Human than Human... Zombie) was the Speed inc Turbo LT1 Smokin the livin **** out of his tires up to 5th gear....... And he was running 760 RWHP.

No offense, I'm not pickin on nobody, but there must have been other factors at play here for you to be able to do a 5th gear burnout.... Oil slick on pavement, water, KY....

Dry as a bone.

You guys have me scared, though, I'll admit it. I'm thinking about going outside right now and trying in the rain... But I won't since I'm missing a damn T-top...
