Difference between ls1 and lt1 t56

Default Difference between ls1 and lt1 t56
my second gear is pretty gone in my t56 in my ss.. and i have a 96 z also that is t56. will it mount up to my ls1? or is the bolt pattern different. i dont want it for a permanent solution, but i dont have the money right now to rebuild my tranny, so i was going to just swap it out for the time being...

I haven't seen it first-hand, but I think it wouldn't work because of at least one of the bellhousing bolts being offset compared to the LT1 T-56...

Just the front plate and input shaft. You will have to remove them. The input on the ls1 is quite a bit longer than the lt1.

im planning on just leaving the bellhousing on and just swapping the tranny.. will it work if i use the ls1 plate and input shaft on the lt1 tranny?

Yes it will work. You might want to check preload also.

how do i check the preload? im dont know a lot about transmissions, but i know that i can drop it and put it back on.. i have done a few before.. if its going to be a lot harder than just bolting the other tranny on... i dont wanna bother with it.
