Trans removal with Solid mounts

With the factory mounts you are able to tilt the motor back to get access to the top trans and bellhousing bolts. I would like to install solid motor mounts but am afraid if I do that I would not be able to remove trans as easily. Is this true or can the motor still be tilted back? Thanks for the help.

The trans comes off the bellhousing. Then the bell off the motor on F bodied cars.
The mounts should not be a real issue here. But I think you'd be better off w/ poly mounts.

You need about 3 feet of extensions and a wobble. I have solid mounts. Works pretty well.

Loosen the rear 4 K-member bolts. Then when you remove the tranny mount the engine should droop enough to get to the top tranny to bellhousing bolt.

Just get a set of long wobble extensions like orangepeel said. I've pulled my trans twice since I put poly engine mounts in with no problem.

Have fun with those engine mounts. PITA install, and if you think you feel the engine and trans vibration now just wait. My poly's are bad enough that I don't even wanna think about what solid mounts would be like.
