Anyway...Your engagement is all out of whack. Did you happen to get an adjustable master? If so, is it turned all the way in or out for adjustment? you will be able to compensate if you did. Also.... If it did come with it, that shim didn't come in the box for packing reasons.
I have done an install without the shim and it caused a hydraulic nightmare.
My clutch did start to disengage AS SOON as you lifted up on the pedal, but it has gotten better since.
Sounds like you didn't put the shim behind the slave.
