you've heard different numbers because it is different for every car. Put it this way, if you think you run the risk of killing it and don't have enough money to replace, don't screw around. If you can afford to replace it..knock yourself out. the clutch is meant for 400flywheel hp in a 3200-300lbs car...fbodies way more, but have less power. So if ou have decent mileage on it, i woudln't push your luck.

My factory clutch lasted for a while with a cam and a 125 shot (500rwhp). I didn't abuse the clutch(no dumping of the clutch) and it last for about 50k miles, then it blewup
Check my sig for my latest setup. The factory clutch is okay except for high RPMs and the clutch pedal gets really spongy until the clutch cools off. I have a spec statge II ready to go in.

The clutch varies mainly open the driver, you can burn a stock clutch out in 4 passes if you're very rough on it, i've been to the strip twice with 52,xxx miles on the car, it's just now starting to slip.
As for spec 3, it's varied lately, heard good and bad about them, sorta like goods and bads out of the batch (ugly duckling kinda thing). But couldn't tell you from personal experience, some of the other guys will tune in soon.

heres a good example of how every car is different. My first stock clutch held great on the street and track with LOTS of abuse for 35k+ miles (nitrous, lots of track time) held strong.....when i put in a new motor i decieded to put in another stock clutch (it was cheap) and this one only lasted 600 miles and did this

my stock clutch went to 97,xxx before letting go. I had the cam in for 15,000 of those miles. As soon as I went to the track it started slipping very badly I might add. I figured it would go. It is all how you drive it.
