Problem: clutch master, slave or both?
My car seems to have developed a shifting problem over the past 2 days.
The shifting has gotten a whole lot harder to get into gear on each 'lazy' shift.
Since then, I've learned to pump the clutch, and it's become easier to get into the gears.. all except first.. I'm at the point that I have to almost put some serious effort into getting it to go.
My clutch likes to engage RIGHT off the floor, and from what I can tell, I don't think that the clutch is coming all the way off the FW when I press in on the clutch.
The fluid is full, and looks clean.
So, as above, master, slave or both?

Been there, done this......a few times. Replace your master AND slave. While you are replacing the slave, go ahead and replace the clutch. (I went with the SPEC Stage IV clutch and it hasn't let me down yet)

Re: Problem: clutch master, slave or both?
Clutch is a brand new Z06 ( about 600 miles on it ) with a master of 37k, and a slave of about 20k. The master is an early stock 2000, and I think the slave was an early 277 IIRC.
Don't want or need to replace the clutch.. it was ballanced with my whole rotating assembly.
*sigh*
Brand new rebuild, and I've already had to do head gaskets, now a master and slave.
What is the price difference between an adjustable master/slave and stock 2002 setup?

wait wait, for cheap you can pull the end off your stock master, thread the rod, and put a ball end on it, just as good as any other adjustable.
my question: is this a brand new flywheel or resurfaced? if resurfaced, it was done too much, your engaugement should be at least halfway off the floor with that clutch /hydro combo.
ok, new idea. skip all the above crap.. if it got low, very gradually getting harder to shift, your pressure plate bolts have backed out.
dont just retighten them, remove, clean the thread holes, and replace with new factory pp bolts. make sure they say 10.9 on the top, and also use red permanent loctite on them torquing to 55 ft-lbs. problem solved <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Sounds like a bad slave cylinder.I`d replace it with a "01" model. That cluch may not last long either if you are pushing 400+ rwhp.
