Ok , I'm planning on getting a new car here in a month or so and I want it to be standard,but I've only driven one once. I have a friend thats going to let me drive his truck around a few times just to get the feel for it but is there anything I really need to know about the manual transmission before I get into the car that I plan to take home, cause I don't want to break my baby before I even get to play with her. Plans are for a GTO but open to corvettes,a SS, or WS.6.

i think that learning the clutch is 90% of the battle. and use common sense, don't shift hard or go fast if you are just starting to learn.
