Default Speedometer not working after clutch install

I tryed some searching around and didnt seem to come up with much of anything. Me and my buddy recently put a spec 3 in his 00 camaro z-28 and everything was working good and then a few miles later the speedometer stopped working. I then talked to him later and he said reverse also was tough to get into. Does anyone know what might of happened we checked over the electrical connections on the trans and they were good and we also checked the fuses and they all seemed good. He scanned it and came up with PO500 which is the speed sensor. Do you guys think the speed sensor just broke or what. Im not sure whats up with reverse either could that be something with reverse lockout or what?

Either unplugged speed sensor or it was damaged in the swap. I would pull the connector and make sure the pins are not bent and they are clean and the wires look undamaged. If all is good with that I would say a faulty speed sensor. Might have got smacked by accident when trans was out on the floor. Would not be the first time.

Yea we checked the pins and the wiring looks good I guess maybe the speed sensor is busted. The funny thing is it was working fine to.

Switch the plugs. Sounds like he plugged the VSS into the reverse lockout and the reverse lockout into the VSS. Very common for people to get the mixed up.

Thanks,
Amber
