B&M Ripper vs Pro 5.0

I raced my friend's LT1 on a road course with a Ripper and it just didn't feel solid. My Pro 5.0 is a little notchy at idle and transmits some noise. But when racing it's rock solid...snaps right into gear, no over-travel. Maybe my friends wasn't installed correctly, but I voted Pro 5.0.

Yeah, sometimes I wish they made the Tri-Ax for our cars.

for those using the Pro 5.0... I had the WS6store short stick on there but I didn't like that it moved the position of the **** so far to the right.. When you cut your Pro 5.0 sticks, where are you cutting them? Like if you took an inch or so chunk out of the middle do you just have it tack welded back together?

As far as I'm aware, EVERYONE just cuts the threads. Would you trust "banging the gears" hard with just tack welds holding the stick together??!

The shorter the stick the notchier the shift because of the loss of leverage. I have a pro5.0 sitting above me on a shelf because of the sloppiness and constant mis shifting. Running the stock hurst with lou's and I like it better and I never mis shift with it. The problem with mine is the springs are crap. The trans will feel like it's all the way into gear when it's not with the pro so I will get a grind. This NEVER happens with the hurst. However I didn't have this issue when the pro was new. I'm gonna get some never springs, stiffer one's and try it again.
