removing the transmission

Default removing the transmission

hey guys i have removed all the bolts holding the engine and the bellhousing together but i cant seem to get it to split open... should i try prying it apart?

just looking for a little helpful insight.

You have to pry it apart. There are spots to do it at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. Just try to keep the pressure even and it should come apart.

Make SURE all of the bolts are out. There are a couple that are hard to see and even harder to get to.

ok i will try to do a little prying

and i know that there were a couple of the drivers side that were a pita as well as the one at 12 o clock but i am sure that they are all out now...pretty sure at least i will definitely double check and then try to do a little prying on it

how many bolts are in the bell im pulling my tranny to day or tomorrow i got about 6 outta tranny to bell i was told it is easier then tryin to pull it all at once

8 in tranny to bell and im pretty sure there are 8 in bell to motor too. There are 2 steel dowl pins at 3 and 9 between the block and bell which tend to sieze up your gonna have to pry them apart

make sure u get all the bolts out did the same thing. . like they said theres 8 on the tranny and 8 on the bell housing. . the trannying should jsut slide out after u take off the bolts and pry it apart
