Default Problems with Spec 3+

Yesterday, I done the drill mod since I have the 3+. After reinstalling the master, the system was bleed out pretty good. I done one pass in the car and everything was fine. Well, today, I drove it for about 100 miles and immediately noticed that while in 5th and 6th, the clutch would slip a little.

What could be my problem? The clutch ony have about 5k on it with NO race times. Only daily driving.

I need help.

Did you get any fluid on the clutch disk when you bled it?

Dont think so, but that could be possible. After driving about 100+ miles and also to work today dont you think that any that was on it should be off by now?

Default I fried a spec stage 3 clutch

I hate these clutches, I have had too many problems that they would not rectify. As if pulling the tranny is fun they dont stand behind their products. I tried to deal with them but to no avail. When, repeat when they work they do feel good esp. on the street with 350-550rwhp. Repeat WHEN.

Had a very similar problem with mine. In my case it was a warped pressure plate. The stage 3 had only 2k miles on it, and down the tubes it went. You may want to check if there's been any warping or heat related stress to the pressure plate / flywheel.

If brake fluid got on it while bleeding, would it finally wear off?

I had that happen after bleeding. I babied it for a few days, and it stopped slipping.

my spec started slipping with 15k on a stock car with mild driving, piece of crap. Don't know why I replaced it with the same ****. I'll go with an ls7 next.

Not speaking about the above post, but with Spec 3 and higher you cannot slip that clutch like a stock, no way, it has to be let out quickly. I have a friend with a 420 rwhp cam only, bolt on z28, 2002, we got stuck on the GWB in NY and it absolutely sucked, he had to slip it, the reg spec 3 lasted 10k. He is up to a spec 3+ and no issues. People who smoke them modded or un modded, driving technique will weigh in heavily.

He called Thunder Racing, where he ordered it, they stated it should have lasted longer, but mentioned with his cam and only having 3.73 gears could have been the reason. We confirmed that with the 4.11's swapped in (installed a moser), that the onstreet driveability and engagement is awesome. Should last a long time now.

I will mention that the same friend had the same issue, 5th it would slip baaaaad, i bet if you pull it, its fragged. Good luck.

Also check your rear main seal, it could be leaking, ive seen that happen to LS1's
