How to tell the diff. in 5-6 and reverse synchro?
Anyone know what the differnces are in them. I got them mixed up. I was having alot of problems with reverse prior to the rebuild and one of the outer synchro housings look pretty bad on one side so Im guessing thats reverse, if so I heard you can flip the reverse one over.

Yeah the 5/6 cluster, but if it were me I'd probably invest in a new reverse synchro, just to not have to re-crack the case.

That is a good idea for another reason: the sleeve to hub fit is controlled as an assembly. It is called rock/ backlash spec. If you look at the sync you will see alasermarking where the syn was "set" new. Its always a good idea to re-assemble it the way it came appart. Flipping the sleeve will throw out that initial control on the assembly. I know this is done all the time but my point is it is not without risk.
