Clutch decision
Clutch decision Ive got an LS6 clutch, and im having problems with it floating and petal sticking at WOT shifts, and was looking at getting a new clutch, any suggestions. I had someone say to get an LS7 clutch, but ive heard theres problems with the install. Thanks for the help.
Mine did the same thing. What it seemed to be alot with mine, is that I could go all the way through first (WOT), and then all the way through second, and then the clutch would be at the floor and I couldnt go to 3rd. Pissed me off to no end. Because basically I had a 0-80 car. It was the factory clutch that was the problem. It slips minimally, and just heats up ALOT, and then essentially boild your brake fluid, and you cant shift. Im pretty sure yours is just like mine, where you can pump the clutch like 4-5 times and then its good again. I got an LS7 clutch, and the problem didnt happen again for the longest time, and now recently it started doing it just a little bit. And then I changed the old dirty fluid and did the drill mod, and go an adj. master cylinder (McLeod) and it hasnt happened since. It seems like with your dyno numbers this should be your problem.
My '01 did the same thing. I replaced the master cylinder but it was the same. Finally I bought a spec stage 3 and it came with a shim that goes behind the slave cylinder to fix this problem in f-bodys. It has a little bit of chatter to it but I love the clutch.
