probably a good idea... the fluid from the line will enter the slave cylinder once connected and you actuate the pedal... i'm thinking there will be some air in the slave before it's filled w/ fluid. that air has to go somewhere.

however, this might work well -

crack the bleeder open, connect the fitting, then have someone press down on the pedal once and hold it, then close the bleeder screw. it should let the air out of the slave while the fluid from the pre-bled line enters it. maybe that'll be a quick and easy way to keep the system bled.

anyone else?

The last slave I ordered new from the wonderful people at GM had some fluid already in it just like the master. I still think there will be some air introduced into the system when you connect the two, so I'd recommend bleeding as best you can using whatever method you are comfortable with. I think 75%+ of the clutch problems people have with these cars is related to not having the system bled properly...best to not chance it.

does anyone know the quality of these non gm clutch masters and slaves? also are they the '00-'02 model versions. i noticed that these parts (at autozone and such places) were about half the price of gm oem stuff.

if you don't get OEM stuff... then get ONLY the best aftermarket. i would not go with an off brand stock replacement.

go with a nice mcleod unit.
