Clutch slip...
But get this...only at part throttle.
Master = updated GM
Slave = updated GM (spaced out with the SPEC provided spacer)
Just rebleed to make sure that wasn't it.
Flywheel = stocker (machined)
Clutch = Spec 5
It holds perfectly fine under WOT into 4th gear. Barks the tires and no slip.
But if I punch it from 2500 RPM's or so in 3rd, 4th, or 5th it will spin up like it has a stall then grab in the upper RPM's.
Now...the engagement point on the pedal is literally right at the top. Not even an inch of movement to disengage.
Everything seemed fine up until recently. 3500 miles on the parts.
Could the flywheel have been machined too much?? I made the mistake of not getting an exact amount taken off.
What is too much?
Thinking about trying a SPEC billet steel on it to see if that does it. Good idea? Bad??
Any other ideas?

Well I'm in the same boat. So hopefully someone has some ideas
I just replaced the Slave and installed SLP LT's
Before no slip everything was fine but slave started to leak so I replaced it. No fluid on the clutch at all I caught it early. I didn't remove the clutch either just the tranny. Bolted new slave on and put it back. I did however bleed it with the might vac and have been doing so randomly for 2 weeks now and I do get air out everytime. Also I have about 1/8 - 1/4 maybe 1/2 play in the pedal at the top.
I romp it in 1st and it grabs just fine. Put it in 4th for normal crusing and give it any gas and boom it starts slipping until higher rpms. Same in 6th at like 65. Cruise will make it slip on any kind of incline. But if I drop it hard it bites and has no trouble. I'm at my wits end!

how does your clutch fork and pivot pin look same thing happened when i got my new clutch transmission was in and out of the car within 2 hours and then the guy found that above parts were worn too much
oh and they surfaced too much on the flywheel had to buy new one and its great

Needs a new clutch.
I was right. Kinda.
But it was more than just the flywheel.
Overheating occured. We think it never really grabbed 100% thanks to the stock flywheel being taken down too far. Parts were fighting to hold.

My Spec 2 is slipping at upper RPMS too. Only when I punch it while crusing. If I replace it I will go with the LS7, Anyone know if the LS7 clutch is equal or better to the Spec Stage 2 ?

Mr.Luos, Let me know what you see when you get the new wheel installed. It is not terribly uncommon to see flywheels with multiple resurfaces wind up to thin. Let me know if you have any further issues.
7901 WS6, Slippage on a stage 2 could also be related to an overly thin flywheel. It is also possible that the disc is contaminated or that it is worn out. If you like, you are welcome to send me pics of the unit when it is removed for examination. As for the LS7--it is a stock unit with less clamp load and an OE organic disc. Stage 2 is capable of holding more power easily. I hope this info helps. Thanks,

So far it has been great. The issue was the flywheel being too thin. It was one resurface...but I am sure that one time had too much taken off. It was more my mistake than anything. I failed to get the info on the flywheel (begin/end thickness) at the machine shop.
And I think it was slipping from the get go...just not enough to notice.
Is this Justin (I believe that is the name I was given as a contact at Spec...started with a 'J' if I recall)??
If so...you talked with someone in Colorado about this issue (then he ordered a stage 4 from ya)

mine is also slipping when I am cruising. When I am in first and second it doesnt slip, 3 rd and up does. The clutch has about 10k on it and looks fine. I put it back in with the new motor with about 300 miles. It only started this with the new motor. I also dont have any pics

1999, moving to an LS7 unit would be a lot like taking two steps back. It has less clamp-load and a stock organic disc. If you decide to take the 2 out I will be happy to have you send some pics over for my consideration. Thanks,

The only problem is when I take it out, I only have enough time to put one back in. So I have to have something to go in it. Theres alot of people who seem to have a problem with these clutches doing this.

Are you having engagement issues?? Or is the clutch just slipping.
Pedal feel funny??
I thought maybe mine was an issue with the fluid going old...so I tryed that first. Pedal felt a little better, but the slipping was still there.
