Default *****4th Gear Grinding*******

Quite often recently, I have been grinding the gearbox when going into 4th gear. It seems when I try to go into fourth rather quickly (not powershifting), it'll buzz the shifter. At first, I thought that maybe I was pulling on the shifter before the clutch was all the way down to the floor - but this is not the case. After grinding a few times on the way to work today, I made it a point to put the clutch pedal all the way to the floor then pull the shifter down into fourth - guess what? Buzz! One thing I have noticed is that it only does this when I'm trying to accelerate quickly and pulling the shifter rather fast into fourth gear. I can go into 2nd & 3rd quickly - without putting the clutch pedal all the way to the floor - but when it comes to fourth - it has been very annoying!

I DO have the Pro 5.0 shifter with the stops turned 1/2 turn away from the shifter (when pushed/pulled all the way into 2nd & 4th gear). But I was looking at the stops today and when I slam a gear - it isn't even touching the stops.

Do I need to get my trans looked at? It is trouble with my synchros? Someone please shed some light because I am getting very upset with my car at this point.

Thanks

Get it looked at but it does'nt sound like a quick fix. 4th lock tabs &or syncro problems but you can't tell untill you inspect.

I took out the Pro 5.0 and put in the factory Hurst (so the dealer wouldn't blame it on that), but I still get the same grinding/buzz going into 4th - off and on. The dealer said that they couldn't duplicate the problem when I dropped it off there I'm going to bring it back because the next day it was doing it again.

Anyone else familiar with, or have had experience with this type of trouble?

Well, it got stuck in 4th again - so I coasted it to the dealership...3 to 4 synchro is shot. They are replacing under warranty.
