lost 2nd gear

lost 2nd gear today I was driving and went to put it in second and nothing 
.... well stoped at my buddy's house and started messing with it and if i pulled it over towards me more the car would start to roll and then it would like slip into a hole a little more over and not go anywhere... I have all gears but second.... has this ever happened to yall? If so what did it turn out to be or have you ever heard of this....someone told me it might just be the shifter alignment...

I have seen it happen. I suspect all the clutch teeth that engage the sleeve are shorn off the 2nd driven gear. This happens from repeated clashing . The clashing starts a crack and the torque laoding takes them off after that.

my car had the same problem about a year and a half ago. it is like a second neutral. the teeth on the second gear that meshes with the slider were broken

Haha this happened to me too. I was a flippen idiot though. Tried to hold a burnout from 1st-2nd, and POP. Ripped 2nd gear right out. Had the whole tranny rebuilt though.

took it to a good local shop today and the guy that does all the work said he really doesnt think second is gone just something like a syncro or something but on the safe side a buddy of mine told me about a place in ft. worth that is really cheap on how good they are... so I'm going to give them a call....
