Sorry, It's been a crazy weekend I haven't had a chance to look at this thread until now. But it looks like Fire-Formula 93 nailed it on his ID'ing of parts. As far as the misc ring, I've done 7 tranny's and I've never seen that piece before.

I wonder if amber from T-56 rebuilds would know? Lemme PM her.

It may be something that wasnt from my trans.

see, the disadvantage of taking 8 weeks to do a trans is, everything gets mixed up and it gets harder and harder to put back together.

8 weeks because I did everything by myself, class is once a week. This is the first trans I did completely by myself.. It took 3 weeks to get my 5th/6th gear off.

one week was spring break, etc...

I just PMed amber. I think it was a part that goes on the countershaft. Im just unsure if it was within the main case or after, where the 5/6th gears go on.

Yes, it goes on after tha main case, but on the countershaft. Im happy. Now I can seal er up! torque down the bolts and put the rest together. and seal the rest of the case back up.

where does the detent ball go and how much driving to break in the trans.

good luck with the rebuild.

Glad you found where it went. The detent ball and spring go behind the front offset lever. It is the piece you see when you take that inspection plate off of the main case. Look on page 2-7 of the tremec manual.

I have read too go easy on the transmission for 500 miles and no downshifts.

now downshifts?

Amber told me to take it easy the first 200 miles so the friction material on the blocker rings and friction cones will settle/break in properly.

Thanks, I cant download that right now.

Also my synchros have to be lined up properly. They are, but say thy didnt go on the hub the exact same way as they came out. But the keys fit on the sleeve just fine and are in the right way. it just may be out of order.

what would be the insignificance of that?
