It peaks at 6400, and having the shift-lite illuminate at 6700 has netted me the best results. Shift RIGHT at peak, and you are guaranteed to have shittier times/traps/results

What does your car peak at? Do you have a graph I can look at? What have you been shifting at? Do you use a shift-lite? Let's get this info together and see if we can improve your mph and et

+1 for shifting about peak. My car peaked at 6400, but stayed flat till 7000 and I shifted at 6700 and this gave me the best results. Heck sometimes I turned it to 6995 and then shifted. These both netted me good results.

it IS factual that, regardless of your set-up, if you shift at peak power that you will turn out slower e.t.'s.
old rule of thumb is a 1,000k past peak power is a good starting point.
my orange car's setup peaked at 5,800 rpm on the dyno - best results came with 6,700-6,800rpm shifts.
stock ls1's peak in the low to mid 5,000 range... most shift from 6000-6200 on stock motor'd cars to get the best results.
if your combo peaks at 6,000 - shifting at 6,400 is NOT shifting AT peak power.

if it's flat from 6,700-7,000 i'd think it would go quicker staying in it's power band 300rpm longer. what's your setup???
