Exclamation HELP! need T-56 identification!

I just bought a complete Borg Warner T-56 6 speed manual transmission from a 1995 Pontiac Trans Am with 84000 miles. The trans is going into a 1991 s10 ith an Lt1. Its a nice looking trans but heres the problem...

I was playing around with the shifter(not in the truck yet) and I couldnt find reverse or a 7th slot for a gear??

I googled some T-56 shifter images just to see where it was and i couldnt get it over far enough to get it into reverse if thats where it is.

The # of the trans is 13-86-065-902 is this a T-56 number or a T-5 number?

I checked Tremec's site and found all the T-56 transmissions they offer start with 13-86 and end in certain numbers. Mine ends in 902 and i didnt see any?

Are the middle 3 digits, and the first 2 of the last 3 numbers tranmission specific?

All help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have nothing to compare it to other than pictures I found on the net. Any over length dimensions I could check it by?

Here is the T56 tag that was on my 97.

I know the number on the top right (E0673) reads like this and is the date of final assembly.

Here is how mine translates:
E=the month; so May.
06=the Date; so the 6th.
7=the year; so 1997
3=Third work shift or graveyard shift.

Maybe that can help. At least you can confirm if it was assemblied in 1995.
Also, their is no way you can mix up a t56 from a t5. They look alot different.
Good luck
JD

That # you gave is the case casting # not the model #. You should have no problem with that trans behind an LT1 as long as you use the F-car LT1 release system parts and bell.
The part number is on the metal tag. Something like 1386-000-006, 009
The reason you can't find the reverse gate is because you need to power the reverse solenoid ( the black plug one nearest the shifter) . Power releases the inhibiting load and allows entrance to that gate..

Reverse solenoid? sounds like that solves everything. Thanks for all the info.
