Default ram clutch help--ASAP

helping a buddy out by putting a ram flywheel & clutch in his 05 gto. i'm having trouble measuring to see if i should put the shim under the t/o bearing. i understand to measure from the transmission mounting surface on the bellhousing to the clutch fingers, but then they say to measure from the bearing face to the mounting face of the transmission. i did that ( i think) i came up with 1.970 to the clutch fingers, and 3.05 from bearing face to trans.
if you subtract the two i get 1.035, ram says it should be between .600 to .700 what am i doing wrong ??

thanks, scot

I just did mine a couple hours ago.....dont ya love RAM's directions? Like some kid made them... no pictures and they suck.
I got 2.058 on the clutch fingers and 2.570 on the slave.....at least i think. Do you measure the slave pushed in? out? They dont say.

I added the shim anyway.

Then put it together, pumped it, it was ok....bled it and now I have nothing,,, pedal seems to do nothing.

JBM, as strange as this may sound, I suggest giving them a call. Perhaps they can help walk you thru the measurement and assure you of your need or not for the shim.

Pwrtrip, Have you noticed any fluid beneath the car? I ask because if you have no pedal then you may have blown the slave. As a side note, if this is not the case then I suggest rebleeding it some more. It is possible that you simply haven't bled it enough.

Let me know if you all have any further questions. Thanks,
