How bad is your up top shifting?

Thats exactly what mine feels like. I mean I know I would be off 3 tenths or so from shifting speed alone.

Is this the reason you are going auto?
yep. it was that or change clutch, and i got a good price on the 4L80e. plus th auto will make much better times.

put a new slave in and now its working fine. The pedal distance on the 3+ is a little different then the 3. Not sure if i like the difference but i think i will get used to it.

Finally found this thread seeing as the search has not been working. Anyway I have bled it to no avail. we are doing the homemade adjustible master today. I REALLY want to hit the track tonight, but KNOW I cant when I have to let off of the gas so much when I shift. Wish me luck. If this does not help, the clutch will be going back to Spec.....

Nuff, As I have mentioned here and in countless other threads...if you have an issue...let me know and I will be happy to work with you. Remember, there are thousands of others that are using this same clutch set-up without issue. Please keep me up to date on what you find! Good luck at the track!

Ok, skipped the stock adjustable and went with a Ram adjustable.

Problem is still there, so we did NOT go to the track. I will be calling you soon......

Thanks!

UPDATE: Ram adjustable master installed and we have played with the release points. Adjusting it up to get it releasing at the top has netted us a much better WOT redline shift. No powershifting, BUT quick street shifting shows promising. We will go to the track and report back next Thursday. Thanks again!

Interestingly, my Spec stage 1 on Nissan doesn't allow me to quickly change gears when revving past 7000rpm, let alone WOT shifting. I thought it was bad gearbox, changed it but no difference.
So normally on the track you can shift gears without releasing gas pedal? Did I understand correctly?

I always release the gas some, simply to help save parts and IF I miss a gear I wont be all over the rev limiter, BUT yes powershifting usually does mean racing with only the clutch and not letting up on the gas at all.

Sorry for the confusion.

We are still planning n a track visit next Thursday.

Went to the track last night with the car. With the adjustable master I hit EVERY gear, EVERY time and teh clutch is feeling MUCH better..........The track wouldn't hook and it was 105 when we got there, but still managed to run a 7.9@90.8, so I don't feel TOO bad. Car has trapped 92-93 in better weather.........Come on fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys please I need some help.
I've installed Spec 2+. 2 problems now:
1. I can't change gears as fast as before - takes 2-3 times longer at high revs. 2-3rd takes almost a second, and if I try to change faster, it will crunch. Feels like it is not disengaging completely. Before I could change gears very quickly even at 6500.
2. engagement point seems to "float" - sometimes I can feel that clutch starts disengaging when I barely touch the pedal (pedal is "hard" right away), and it disengages completely some 3-4cm from the floor.
Then suddenly it changes and peal becomes hard only after ~2cm of travel, and clutch completely disengages right at the floor (or even doesn't disengage, because sometimes it's even hard to put in first, and when I put and release pedal just 5mm - car starts to roll).
Hope it makes sense.
What could be causing these 2 problems?
