Just be sure to have an extra set of hands to help you drop it. You will need a long extension to reach the upper most bolt holding the tranny to the bellhousing (~24"). Oh, and be sure to drain the fluid before you drop it.

I pulled mine the other day by myself. It wasn't that bad. I sent my tranny off to Houston get a rebuild. I know it is gonna be a B%*#! to stab back in but I have repalced everything my pilot bearing, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, and I did the drill mod wich was the hardest thing. I am gravity bleeding all my stuff as I put it back together and I hope it pays off and my SPEC clutch holds up. When I get it back in six days I will be sure to have at least two people helping me stab it back in.

have a swivel and a rubber mallot. if the bellhouseings been on for awhile its a bitch to get off. A trany jack is really nice to have but a floor jack will work. Also I see alot of people say pull the y pipe off, I never had to. Its not bad I can do it by myself in about 2hrs now, from start to finish.

I used a kwiklift and was able to remove by myself with a trans jack on my back (I removed the Y pipe since I couldn't slide the trans back far enough). As far as installing, the input shaft has to be perfectly aligned or it will stop from sliding, and you don't want to force it. I got the input shaft started and then wiggled the motor up and down on the mounts while pulling on the trans - it slid all the way in without much effort. Oh, if you have had any bleeding nightmares, pick up a bleeder extension (black2002WS6 sells them LS1tech sponsor) and save LOTs of headaches.
