Default GTO trans in F-body

Well for those of you that have drove a GTO you know that the tranny in them has a bad *** first, second and third gear radio. (first is too steep) But the best thing about it is the ratios keep it right in the powerbandand the power to the rear wheels. I also have noticed most of the ratios are the same as a c5 zo6.
Has anyone put one of these trannys in a f-body. I think it would make a considerable difference.

Remember gearing is almost the most important aspect of performance.

I am not sure the cases would match, but the internals would prolly swap out.

I have one in my street car. They are very simple to convert.

DemonicBird I believe his name is (is in the Eastern section decent bit of time I think), put an MN12 in his f-body. Presently runs high 10s at 126mph IIRC, try finding and PMing him.

six speeds inc. did you custom build one or did you just install one into your f-body? Isnt the Mn12 the code for that trans?

I've searched for this info a few times I either suck at searching or It's not too much discused.

Frankly I think it'll be a great idea, and I'm also wondering how close they are parts wise IE cheap way to hybrid a t-56 in gearing?

The only difference in the trans is the offset lever for the shifter. And yes we did build the one in my car. There is no way to do it cheaply unless you can get the entire GTO trans cheaply.
