Default After the drill mod,do I still need to bleed the Master Cyclinder?

Did a search on this, most input was that if you are upgrading to a 01-02 GM Master Cyclinder that they come prebled? If I did the drill mod, am I still okay putting it back in without bleeding it? THanx for your input. DoubleK

When I bought my new 01-02 master, I did the drill mod to it before I put it in the car. I just made sure that I didnt lose any fluid out of the master when I took the line off. when I was done I just made sure the line was filled with fluid before I put it back on to the master cylinder. I hooked up the line to the slave and pump the pedal, by about the 10th pump I had pedal pressure. I pumped the pedal about 30 times to get all the air out of the system.

You did flush out the line w/ fluid after drilling to get the debris out right?
I would do that & tehn bleed it anyway to just be sure it is clear & air free IMO.

Bleeding the hydraulics should never be an option...it is more of a necessity. I would personally never want to risk damaging the clutch or the transmission because my hydraulics weren't operating as they were supposed to.

Oh yea, I did flush out the debris, after the drill mod, used a bulb syringe and some tranny cooler cleaner, also what exactly is the differance between the 98-00 Master and the 01-02, they look the same, only differance is the quick connect fitting was a differant color. THanx again for your responses. DoubleK

Also seems like the 01-02, the quick connect fiitting, seems to be stuck further down the hole, than on the 98-00, is this normal?
