Default From my 4l60e auto to an M6?

I have a 98 ls1 M4. I would like to get a used m6 out of like a 2000 trans am thats been junked ... and swap it with my automatic. I was wondering how long this would take and how hard it would be. Luckily i have my uncle to rebuild it for just parts. So about how much dough and how much man hours are going to be spent on this project? Thanks in advance.

you want to get the same year transmission as your engine so youd want a 98. 98 has alot different wiring harness than 99-02, all years are different but 98 is really different, having a different year transmission than engine/wiring harness/PCM would probably cause some problems.
