Makes no sense to have rattle at 1000 rpm in 6th. Floater rattle happens whenever you push the clutch in and only then. When you let it out it stops.
It does seem to get quieter as the clutch warms up. And as for inches the car up the driveway not on my tex twin. I still have the original twin discs the ceramic metallic ones. I also have a set of the new carbon kevlar street discs to try out when get a chance to install them. Some guys maybe don't hear the floater rattle. Its possible they wouldn't if they have louder stereos or loud exhausts. As for being smooth and driveable I have about 1000 miles on my clutch now. It was hell for the first twenty miles absolutely undriveable glad was breaking it in away from any traffic. Then it got better for next hundred or so thank god, then a bit grabbier again and then got better as the miles added up. Maybe in another thousand it would let me inch up the driveway. I also have not tracked it just street driven and mostly city miles. Some reasonable launches as don't want to break the stock rear end just yet.
I have heard the carbon/kevlar discs are very streetable if you check a few other posts on here.
Tex should be offerring the twin with both disc options like it does on the oz700. Tex also said the floater rattle was less with the carbon kevlar discs. The carbon kevlar are full face, sprung discs. unlike the puck and one sprung, one unsprung metallic ones that come normally with the twins. The carbon discs take less power they were not sure how much less but would think somewhere in the middle of the oz700 and the full ceramic/metallic discs.
I have no idea why tex seems to be keeping the carbon kevlar twin discs under their hat. Maybe they want to do more testing with them. They don't mention them on their website or any of their dealers also don't mention them.

my co worker also has the tex twin disk, he can also inch it onto our lifts with no issues what so ever
as for the rattling in 6th, i must of confused it with a boging engine, u cant hear much with an open downpipe

02402RAMAIR - OUCH!!!
MY99TAWS6 - You are correct, we have the Carbon Kevlar discs now, and while they don't have the same power holding capacity as the original exo-skel discs, they do quiet down the floater plate, and they are a bit smoother than the carbon ceramic discs.
As for not advertising them, well we have been testing them and have been getting them ready for the general market. But, we prefer not to release product on folks without having some good test data in the real world. You can theorize all you want on how something should work. but until you have it on the road, its all speculation.
With that being said, if anyone has an issue with our product, we want to hear from you. The only way we can either help you out, or help you rectifiy any issue you might be having is to get in touch with us. Sadly, we don't have time to surf ls1tech all day long looking for posts. I really wish I could spend more time on here, but time is just not something any of us seems to have much extra of these days. So, I'd like to ask this of any of you who ever has an issue with any of our products, please let us know. You can gripe to your friends, you can gripe on here, but if you don't gripe to us, we'll never be able to fix it...
As for the manners of an exo-skel for anyone. It should be neither grabby, nor have a hard pedal. It makes me worry that perhaps you have a disc installed backwards. The clutch should only have some chatter for the first 200-500 miles, and then it should smooth right out. If it does not, then it might be wise to look at the instalation to ensure everthing is installed correctly.
The BEST way to get in touch with us is via email. That email address is admin@textralia.com.au

Nice to see you post on our ls1 forum Tex! I am pretty sure my clutch discs are installed correctly they were marked by you guys and did put them in that way. My pedal pressure is reasonable. Firm not light but fine for me. My clutch at 1000 miles is not super grabby but can't be inched really either. Is there anything to do to it to help it break in more? I heard seond gear slow slips maybe? Are my 3.42 gears making it harder to inch the car ahead. As said don't want to go much past 3.54 in new rear end not sure if should go 3.73 with big inch twin turobs. But sure the clutch would like 3.73s to get off the line better in a pretty heavy near 3900 raceweight trans am.
I am not going to be tracking it this season and not until get new rear end and its mostly street car anyway. I do plan on trying the carbon/kevlar discs but might wait for spring so don't have to do trans removal twice if doing new engine in spring anyway. I put my car away end of october here for winter. We have pretty brutal winters up here.
Also sorry to bug you guys but never recieved actual instructions from anywhere on the twin. Does the twin have its own instructions or just the same as the oz700?
If it has its own please post it on your website already! Or send me some email or written ones.I have emailed guys that sold me clutch too but no response on the instructions thing. It was not too professional to get a very expensive clutch and have no instructions for torque specs, etc. I am pretty sure I installed it right with red loctitie and star pattern tightening and all that stuff. And asked various places about torque specs. Still instructions would be a good thing and on website would be fine.

I also just put mine into my 01 ls1. I got a exo twin. Its in my 240sx. I have about 2500 miles on it. The plates don't bother me when Its floating. nearly all twins i've had do it. (i'm use to them in our japanese cars).
The question and issue i'm having is that when i let the clutch out too quick it makes a squeeling noise. Also my master cylinder is a 7/8th bore and it engadges right at the top. I mean when the pedal is released all the way. Is this normal with you guys?
