Whats the best shifter and clutch for a 6speed?

Whats the best shifter and clutch for a 6speed? My clutch is weak. I need to buy a new one. I have a Hurst shifter that came stock in my SS. Its OK but I want something better. Also my clutch peddle gets stuck 2 inches from the ground when I am shifting hard. Can I fix this. When this happens my shifter doesn't want to go into gear.

The Z06 clutch is factory in the later cars and seems to hold up reasonably well (if you have a mostly stock car). Otherwise, there are choices....Cartek, McLeod, Spec stage III, etc. Look at the prices and call the manufacturers with questions (or put them up here....somebody will answer). My Z06 clutch is still hanging in there at 22,000 miles, but I autocross and am not a drag racer. But, my car is reasonably stock on the drivetrain (for now). Just my thoughts.

As for shifter, I love my stock Hurst with the short stick (Lou's Short Stick). The short stick stick made a huge difference. I had the Pro 5.0 shifter but took it off and went back to the factory Hurst. Just as good IMO.

Re: Whats the best shifter and clutch for a 6speed? If your clutch pedal is getting stuck to the floor the hydrolics need to be upgraded to the newer parts. I would rec. a Pro 5.0 shifter,new clutch hydrolics and a SPEC clutch stage II or III depending on your mods and goals. We could set you up with a package deal if you are interested please give us a call.
