Default Not shifting after slight load...

I've posted this before. But with no helpful responses.

I've been experiencing a problem with my transmission lately.

After a visit to the dragway, I noticed the car not shifting into 4th gear down the strip. Confused as to why...

Now I realize that if I floor my car or give it any significant amount of gas, it will not shift into the next gear well. If I floor it through two gears (i.e: 1st - 2nd) Then it will not shift at all and my clutch pedal sinks a little below halfway to the floor.

Could this be a fluid issue? I do have longtubes and the line that runs from my slave to my transmission is uncovered and only inches away from the drivers side header. Could the fluid just be boiling? Or could the fluid be boiling due to air? Or could this just be my clutch going? I doubt the latter due to my clutch still grabbing very well for the power I put down. Car only has 61k on it. Since the car still has stock clutch and rear end. I'm contemplating purchasing either or. I barely have enough money for a rear end. Not enough to do both. So clutch is possible, but if the rear blows after clutch install. i'll sorta be screwed. I really appreciate your help guys. Thanks.

Rick.

Sounds liek a hydraulic issue to me. I would first start off by doing a complete flush/refill/bleed of the clutch fluid.

I see you have LTs. Did you insulate the Hydraulic line? Check the fluid level & color. It may be over heating.

What methods or products do you suggest I use to heat insulate the hydraulic line coming from the slave that sits close to the header. I know exactly where it is but don't know of the correct method to sheild it from heat. This has been suggested to me also. I just haven't done anything about it yet.

heater hose/fuel line or metallic insulator wrap. Or both for even better protection. I just took a piece of heater hose and slit it down the center, put it around the line, then zip tied it tight. Worked like a charm for me. Also be sure to zip tie the line off as far from the header as possible to keep it away from the heat.
