worn out pilot bearing, cause difficult shifting at high RPMs
as the subject says...
do you feel its possible for a worn out pilot bearing to cause problems when shifting?
car 2001 camaro z28 miles 109,xxx
bolt on and cam,
situation when driving normal around town the car shifts fine, however when racing and trying to shift it will not go into gear. It feels like theres a lock out on. If I wait a second and let the rpms drop then its fine and shifts.
The gears are not grinding so I am confident the trans is fine.
the clutch is new, hydraulics are new with about 4500 miles on them.
however the pilot bearing is not new, it has 109,xxx miles on and even though its a needle bearing as opposed to the old bushing design, I'm sure its sloppier then a ***** on nickel night...
oh damn I just remember I did not do the drill mod will I installed the new hydraulics... damn I might have to do that!
what do you guys think?

i did the drill mod on the previous set up but did not do it on this set up..
i will have too, hopefully it makes the difference. Its just odd on how I have 4500 miles on the new setup and it just finally started being a complete pain...
