Default Clutch Question

So I was tuning my car on the highway, belt slipped off doing ~160km/h - I coasted to a stop, the car overheated and ate my head gaskets. I just installed new head gaskets and my clutch exhibits the following:

Rev engine in neutral - engine seems strong revs good - no vibration.
Rev engine in gear holding clutch down - car pulls forward as i rev it up and chatters (not disengaging properly).
If I am driving, the clutch "chatters?" (shakes pretty bad) anything over ~2000 rpm.
When I put the new tranny in I replaced the hydraulics in the bellhousing.
As far as I know, all other hydraulics are stock 98.
Have not done drill mod yet.

What are your thoughts?

Did the headgaskets fail internally or externally? Did you maybe soak the with oil or coolant?

internally - no oil on the clutch as far as I can tell, however, if so, how would that explain it jumping forward when I hold down the clutch in gear and give it gas.

Ok, if the car is pulling forward with the clutch pedal depressed it is not releasing. You mentioned replacing the internal hydraulics (I assume that you are refering to the slave clyinder which is inside of the bell housing). Clutch release is often related to inconsistent fluid transfer between the master and slave cylinder. If you have not replaced the master then do so. When doing this, go ahead and drain and refill the hydraulic fluid. Check and make sure that hydraulic lines that run near the header are wrapped with an insulating material. Also, if you haven't performed the drill-mod to this too while you are at it.

There is really no reason for this to be caused by a belt coming off or a blown head-gasket...but if you are really using the OE '98 model master cylinder then think of it as a strange coincidence that will allow you to make some needed upgrades. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!!!

Would the master cylinder cause both these problems?

1) Not fully disengaging with petal down?
2) Not fully engaging while driving?

I will replace it anyway, just curious if it can cause both?

Default Think it is a clutch?

I posted in the clutch section, but no responses, so i though someone here might chime in...

Any suggestions for a Clutch - mine is vibrating pretty bad. In neutral give it gas and it is smooth, in gear give it gas while holding the clutch and it pulls forward (not disengaging), once engaged and driving, it shakes/vibrates. I just replaced all the hydraulics and did the drill mod, problem still there, would like input - check sig for mods.

Question Any Suggestions / Ideas?

Clutch petal feels stiff through the entire range of motion, clutch engages right near the end of travel (i.e. when I push the clutch down it disengages within the first 10%, and when I let it out it engages the last 10%).

Default Thanks

I pulled the tranny, the pins on the flywheel where sheared. So I put in new ones and reinstalled the clutch (Spec Stage 3). It did the exact same thing (vibrate). So I pulled the tranny again and installed a Spec Stage 5. Initial feedback is that I don't have any problems at all driving it on the street - no more vibration.

Thank you to everyone who sent messages / suggestions.
