emergency: t56 rebuild help
Hey guys, i tore apart my t-56 because i lost 3rd and 4th. Shift fork pads were melted.
I put my trans back together and 1-4 work perfect, 5,6,and reverse dont engage, it's as if it was in neutral. What do you recommend i do? I had a little problem with the shift rail for the 5,6, and r, i am guessing it is in the wrong place since it pulled out when i had the main case on. Is there anyway to align this without taking the main case off again?
The cars been out of comission for 3 weeks (been working and out of town) so really would like to get it done tomorrow.
edit: for some reason, i backed out my alignment screw and it is broken so i need to take it apart anyways to get the piece out, is this my problem?

Most likely, your shift rail is not in alignment, are you 100% sure everything went back in that came out, when you did the rebuild? If you broke the "alignment screw?" you have something seriously wrong with the shift rail.

took it apart, correct: shift rail was out of alignment, now i need to find a new alignment screw, do you think a trans shop or junkyard would stock it?

Not sure but Sixspeedsinc.com will definitely have any little part you may need. They have come through for me many times.
