01 M6 Z-28 doesn't have aluminum driveshaft?
My A4 98 had an aluminum driveshaft but after looking at my 01's it has rust on it like a regular driveshaft. I thought all 98-02 f-bodies came standard with an aluminum shaft? Am I mistaken? I noticed this yesterday while installing some LCA's on the car. Thanks!

Why in the heck does my 3.42 M6 Z-28 have a steel one then? My 98 was a 3.23 Auto and it had an aluminum DS. I checked with the previous owner and this car has never had it replaced. Strange.

My 2001 M6 originally had the steel driveshaft, crappy 235 tires, and 118mph speed limiter (though it did get the 150 speedo). All of those deficiencies have been corrected.
The 235 Eagle GA was not Z-rated, while both of the 245 tires options (RSA and GC if I recall correctly) were.
I think that for M6 cars, only those with the Z-rated tires (and the higher speed limiter setting) got the aluminum DS.
I also think that all of the tire options for 2002 were Z-rated, so most likely all M6 cars from that year only got the aluminum DS.
