Default PRo 5.0

I jsut got my pro 5.0 shifter installed I had read that people cut it down an inch or 1 1/2. I was wondering what you guys were using to cut through it a rugalr circular saw or what is a good method?

Pro 5.0 with cut handle, took me 15 minutes, 2 blades, 3 beer and a sore arm. but im very happy with the results. used a hacksaw

before and after pics. biggest thing, make sure you dont cut to much off, if you do the handle will not get tight, i wouldnt go any larger than this.

NICE picture!!! Thats the first good comparison of those two that Ive seen. Might have convinced me to do the LSS. I cut mine...and I also put it in the press and bent it back towards me some. Im wondering if the Lous stick can be bent back alittle. Thing looks pretty beefy...

15 minutes, 2 blades and a sore arm??? Did you get the hacksaw from the dollar store or did you somehow get a titanium shifter handle?

Literally took me all of 2 minutes...with an old hacksaw I found laying around in the shed. I think I cut alittle further than you, but my shifter has a stopper nut on it, so I needed to leave room for that too. I have the hurst sidewinder shifter...and it sits high on the stick. Opposed to the stocker that screws all the way down and sits lower. Thats why I want the LSS.

Ive also seen people cut more than that, leaving like 1/4" - 3/8" of thread. Then they use red locktite on the threads, screw the shifter on, and let it sit over night. It seems to stay then.

haha...gotcha. without a vise that would be pretty difficult...should have just put paper towels down and cut it while installed on the trans.

I just hope the LSS can be bent...Ill probably nab it up. If the Pro 5.0 stick was thicker, I would just put more threads on it. The reason I want it bent is because Im tall, and sit pretty far back. I feel like im throwing my elbow out of its socket when I hit third real hard.

Yeah I bought the shifter used it came witha short stick but where it mounts to the shifter isnt angled so it sits way over against the consol and in reverse I hit the side and it feels to far away from me I dont have a vice eather so I guess Ill try to find a hack saw.

I used a hack saw with a dull blade lol still wasnt too bad. Afterwards I grinded the edges smooth so it didnt cut up the **** and used a die to make sure it would screw on good. I since sold it though I dont really like the pro5.0.
