I love my OZ700. It gets my vote over ANY other clutch, and I have tried many.

The other went down to a spec 2 since he likes to slip the clutch.

Ya but the SPEC 3+ clutch only comes with the clutch disk and pressure plate... No flywheel. The Textralia comes with everything.

Those of you running the Tex...did you upgrade/replace the Mas Cyl and Slave??? I want to get rid of the soft clutch pedal crap, and be able to run the quarter w/o having pedal/shifting issues.

Seems that Tex recommends stock hydraulics (not a mcleod M/C etc.)

Thx for any input.

Those of you who have had soft pedal issues...did the new Tex clutch fix the problem?

i put a spec in mine and it was the worst clutch ever, i took it out after 500miles and im now running a Ls7 clutch with the Ls2 flywheel. this clutch is very good for the cost but i would have done the tex if i wasnt tight on funds.

I don't wanna make this seem like im bashing spec (im not) but go with the tex. I have not seen anbody have a problem with tex. I have driven a tex in my friends 06 gto and it was the best clutch I have ever driven on in my life. Smooth as hell and it has a 700 ft lb rating (can't go wrong there). That will deff be my next clutch. I have seen many people have problem with spec clutches (in specs defense they are the most used clutch out there so they will have the most problems. But the way I see it do it once, do it right get the best and leave the rest.

i didn't read the thread, but i had a spec 3+ and it shitted out on me less that 5000 miles, started slipping like crazy, any more than 1/4 throttle and it would just spin rpms up. I went with a tex oz700 after and it's been about 7000 miles w/ no problems, there's an inconsistent slight chatter, but the pedal pressure is almost stock feeling and im much happier with it then the spec, which still chattered like crazy right before it starter slipping.

I had the Spec 3+ in my car and just replaced it with a Tex OZ700 Z Grip. I must say that the pedal pressure is awesome. I would recommend it just for that fact. At first I thought that the clutch wasn't working b/c it was so light compared to the Spec. I don't know about holding power yet, but if it's anything like everyone says it is, I won't have any problems. Both are good clutches, but after now having both, I must say I had to vote for the Textralia all the way. Well worth the money.

Its always a good idea to replace the master/slave if you had the old ones. Tex recoomonds the stock ones. And mine has been great!

I had a Spec 2+ and I hated it everytime I got in the car.... It was an on and off switch. You couldnt slip the clutch at all. My friend has a Tex in his 00 T/A and I love it.... It never chattered at all and it feels like stock. I sold my old car and when my new car's clutch takes a ****, I will be buying a Tex.

1110 for everything you need and a new slave, bolts, and pilot bearing at byunspeed. haven't had it long enough to say on reliability but it grabs like *****. I got the x grip and they rate it at 550 to 600 and the z grip for 700. Both types are the same price. Customer service is great. the x has no chatter a little firmer clutch and they say the z will chatter a little on some but recommend it if you go to the track.

Year old thread, guys!!!

BTW, Tex all the way. BlackScreamin earlier in the post mentions my brother going to the 3+. Little did he know 4,000 miles later the 3+ would be fried and he would swap to a Powergrip HD. My Spec 2 was also having problems so I swapped to a Tex OZ700 Z-grip. Amazing clutch (we had both previously fried Spec 3s without too much effort).

first off i want to say i had a tex and i hated it..i have had much better luck with my spec 3+...the only suggestion i can give is break in the spec 3+ for about 1000miles dont use specs recommended 500mile bs...i broke mine in for 1000 cause i kno many people who did the 500 mile thing and had terrible luck with it...im 15k miles in with mostly romping and slipping and all the things ppl say not to do with it and i cant complain..still nothing wrong with it...

there was only one problem..the factory master isnt enough for full disengagement u will need at the minimum a ram if not a mccleud or look forward to an early trans rebuild...just a word to the wise

The funny thing about clutches is the variables. There are too many that can affect a clutches performance. I had a spec 3+ with a fidanza fw and new hydros. I loved its grabbing power and the "bear trap" like pedal. But it only lasted 6k miles. I broke it in for 1k miles before I introduced it to my driving style. Either the clutch couldnt handle my driving style, or I couldnt handle the clutch. Whatever it was, It still took a **** on me. I was going to replace it with the same setup, brand new everything, but I wanted to experience a different clutch, so I went with the tex. I havent installed it yet, so I cant offer my opinion on the tex. Just remember that these are all opinions with uncontrolled variables.

Get the Textralia, I have a buddy with a Spec 3 plus and it chatters bad, Mine doesn't chatter one bit, just like the stock clutch. I love mine now, But it wouldn't fully disengage and you couldn't shift it in the higher rpms fast. Then I Bought the Tick master and it solved all my problems with the Textralia.....

When my Textralia goes out I may try a Monster clutch, they look like a heck of a product....

Textralia's are substantially more expensive, but they're worth twice what they cost i LOVE my OZ700, which is why i'm selling it, only for a EXO-SKEL. pedal pressure is stock-like, it just engages a little quicker. i was 100% confident i could beat on that clutch all day long and never worry about breaking it. it was impressive to say the least.

Tex makes a good product, and i have the oz 700, but, I need to upgrade my hydros as I am having problems grabbing second at high rpm. Also the peddle tends to stick and sometimes I have to pry it up with my foot as the hydro can't keep up.

Tick makes a good upgrade for the hydros and I will be installing it soon.

My 3+ won't do 500 rwhp on radials and no slicks, 2 of them and I am done with them.
